The Plant Science and Microbiology Department of Miguel Hernández University (UMH) comprises two main units: Plant Science and Microbiology. Department faculty lecture in different Bachelor’s degrees as well as in several M.Sc. and Ph.D. programs. Asimismo, participan en diferentes proyectos de investigación, en contratos para actividades de apoyo tecnológico y en contratos de asesoramiento y asistencia técnica con organismos tanto públicos como privados. In both units faculty make up several Research Teams. The Plant Science unit mainly focusses on lecturing and doing research in Plant Science, Crop Protection, Gardening and Landscape architecture, Horticulture and Pomology. Microbiology faculty are specialists in Health Sciences, Biotechnological Microbiology, Environmental Sciences, Oenology and other Food Processing industries.
