RESEÑA INVESTIGADORES DEL GRUPO

Pablo Melgarejo Moreno

Es Ingeniero Técnico en Hortofruticultura y Jardinería (1977), Ingeniero Agrónomo (1981) y Doctor en Ingeniería Agronómica y Forestal (1993) por la Universidad Politécnica de Valencia (UPV). También posee un Máster Internacional de Citricultura (1981) del Instituto Nacional de Investigación y Tecnología Agraria y Alimentaria de España (INIA). A partir de 1981, se desarrolló como Director Técnico de la empresa Hnos. Rodríguez, S.L., cargo que combinó simultáneamente hasta 1989 con las actividades de profesor contratado encargado de curso y profesor asociado para diferentes asignaturas en la Escuela Universitaria de Ingeniería Técnica Agrícola de Orihuela (EUITA – UPV) actualmente la Escuela Politécnica Superior de Orihuela (EPSO) de la Universidad Miguel Hernández (UMH). A partir de 1989 se dedicó en exclusiva a sus actividades docentes, pasando por diferentes categorías profesionales y, finalmente, en 2002 fue reconocido como Catedrático Universitario de la UMH, donde además es Director del Departamento de Producción Vegetal y Microbiología de la UMH (desde 2000). El Dr Melgarejo es autor de más de 200 publicaciones científicas (más del 40% como autor principal) en revistas indexadas de alto impacto, 6 publicaciones docentes, 32 libros y 26 capítulos de libros. En total ha supervisado 18 Tesis Doctorales y 115 Trabajos tanto de Final de Grado (TFG) como de Final de Máster (TFM). Pablo Melgarejo ha participado en 78 Proyectos de I+D+i, de los cuales 36 son derivados de convocatorias competitivas (27 de los cuales como investigador principal y/o coordinador) y 42 de convocatorias no competitivas. Hasta la fecha, el Dr Melgarejo tiene 4 sexenios de investigación y 1 sexenio de transferencia reconocidos por el ministerio de Educación y Ciencia. Es el Director del Grupo Consolidado de Investigación en “Fruticultura y Técnicas de Producción” de la Universidad Miguel Hernández desde su creación. Ha sido coordinador del Programa de Doctorado de Producción Vegetal de UMH entre 1998 y 2003, Director de la EUITA de Orihuela y la EPSO de Orihuela desde 1992 a 1997. Ha formado parte de diferentes comités universitarios, prestando servicios a diferentes órganos colegiados, universitarios y profesionales. Forma parte del programa de Doctorado en Recursos y Tecnologías Agrarias, Agroambientales y Alimentarias (ReTos-AAA) de la UMH e imparte docencia en diferentes másteres oficiales.

Francisca Hernández García

Es Ingeniero Agrónomo (1990) por la Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV) en la especialidad de Fitotecnia, Especialista en Auditoria Ambiental (1997) por la Universidad Politécnica de Madrid y Dra. Ingeniero Agrónomo (1999) por la Universidad Miguel Hernández de Elche (UMH). En el 2019 consiguió el reconocimiento como Catedrática Universitaria desde la figura de Profesora Titular de Universidad (2009). Además del Grupo de Investigación en Fruticultura y Técnicas de Producción, es miembro de la Comisión Académica del Programa de Doctorado en Recursos y Tecnologías Agrarias, Agroambientales y Alimentarias (ReTos-AAA) ambos de la UMH. Su labor investigadora en la UMH está vinculada al área de Producción Vegetal, del Departamento de Producción Vegetal y Microbiología. Sus investigaciones se centran principalmente en el campo de la fruticultura, con un especial énfasis en los frutales de zonas áridas y semiáridas; abarcando: (i) prospección y conservación de recursos fitogenéticos en peligro de extinción; (ii) caracterización agronómica, morfológica, química y bioquímica del material vegetal; (iii) aplicación de diferentes técnicas agronómicas (por ejemplo, riego deficitario controlado y poda) para mejorar el rendimiento de los cultivos frutales; (iv) identificación y cuantificación de compuestos bioactivos; (v) estudios de mercado sobre la aceptación de frutas y vegetales en los mercados nacionales e internacionales; y, (vi) elaboración de nuevos productos y aprovechamiento y puesta en valor de subproductos agrarios.

Juan José Martínez Nicolás

Es Ingeniero Técnico Agrícola (1988) e Ingeniero Agrónomo (1992) ambas titulaciones por la Universidad Politécnica de Valencia (UPV) y Doctor Ingeniero Agrónomo (1999) por la Universidad Miguel Hernández (UMH). Tras finalizar sus estudios de Ingeniero Agrónomo trabajo como Director Técnico de los servicios agrícolas de la Caja Rural Central de Orihuela. Desde finales de 1994 y hasta principios de 1998 simultaneo esta actividad con la de profesor asociado tanto en la UPV como en la UMH. Fue nombrado Profesor Titular de Escuela Universitaria en 2000 y Catedrático de Escuela Universitaria en 2002. Desde 2007 imparte docencia presencial en el Máster Universitario Oficial en Gestión Sostenible y Tecnologías organizado por el Instituto Universitario del Agua y de las Ciencias Ambientales (Universidad de Alicante). Ha sido promotor del Master Universitario Oficial en Técnicas Avanzadas para la Investigación y Producción en Fruticultura, siendo Director del mismo desde sus inicios (2012) hasta 2018. Así mismo, forma parte del grupo promotor del Programa de Doctorado en Recursos y Tecnologías Agrarias, Agroambientales y Alimentarias que inició su actividad en el curso 2012-2014.

Pilar Legua Murcia

Es Ingeniero Técnico Agrícola (1996) por la Universidad Politécnica de Valencia e Ingeniero Agrónomo (2000) por la Universidad Miguel Hernández, Master Internacional en Citricultura (1999) por la UPV y Dra. Ingeniero Agrónomo (2002) por la UMH. En el año 2000 comenzó a trabajar en el Departamento de Producción Vegetal y Microbiología de la Universidad Miguel Hernández de Elche (UMH), y donde, actualmente es Profesora Titular Universitaria (2019). Imparte docencia tanto en asignaturas de Grado como de Máster. Pertenece al Grupo de Investigación consolidado “Fruticultura y Técnicas de Producción”. Durante su trayectoria, ha participado en más de 18 proyectos tanto de ámbito nacional como internacional, así como en más de 20 contratos de I+D con empresas del sector agroalimentario. Su producción científica está avalada por más de 70 artículos en revistas JCR, otros 40 en revistas de divulgación y 85 contribuciones en congresos además de 2 patentes una de ellas en explotación. Sus investigaciones se centran en la caracterización de nuevas variedades y patrones de frutales, especialmente de cítricos y frutales menores. Actualmente colabora con distintas instituciones tanto nacionales como internacionales tales como la Universidad de Wroclaw (Polonia), Universidad de Florencia (Italia), Universidad de Parma (Italia), Universidad de Catania (Italia).

Rafael Todos Santos Martinez Font

Es Ingeniero Técnico Agrícola (1989) por la Universidad Politécnica de Valencia (UPV), Ingeniero Agrónomo (2005) por la Universidad Miguel Hernandez (UMH), Licenciado en Fitotécnia (1998) por la University of California Davis, Máster en Viticultura y Enología (2000) por la California Polytechnic State University y Dr Ingeniero Agrónomo (2005) por la UMH. Tiene 20 años de experiencia docente universitaria (4 Quinquenios) en el ámbito de los cultivos leñosos, fruticultura, pomología y viticultura. También imparte docencia en el Programa Oficial de Máster Universitario en Viticultura y Enología (UMH), en las asignaturas de Viticultura, Viticultura de precisión y Vinos del mundo. Además, es el director de dicho programa de máster, siendo el encargado de la creación y puesta en marcha del plan de estudios y memoria del programa de máster oficial universitario. Ha dirigido 83 trabajos avanzados, Trabajos y Proyectos Fin de Carrera, Trabajos Fin de Grado, Tesinas, Trabajos Fin de Máster y Diplomas de Estudios Avanzados. Asimismo, posee 3 tramos de investigación (Sexenios) reconocidos por la CNEAI, y ha dirigido 4 becas de investigación para estudiantes tanto de primer y segundo ciclo como para titulados de grado medio y superior. Ha participado en numerosos proyectos de investigación nacionales e internacionales relacionados con la caracterización, tipificación y técnicas de producción en distintas especies frutales (10). En cuanto a la transferencia de conocimiento y experiencia profesional, ha participado en 24 Contratos de transferencia o prestación de servicios profesionales con empresas, Administraciones públicas y otras instituciones. Además, posee 3 patentes o modelos de utilidad y 3 contratos de licencia de patentes para transferencia de conocimiento al sector productivo.
